Whether he’s behind the decks or grooving in the crowd, Graeme, affectionately known as “G”, radiates the spirit of connection, creativity, and community that drives our shared musical journey. A passionate contributor to music since the mid-1980s, Graeme began his journey as a guitarist, playing in countless bands over the years. His infectious energy and love of improvisation led him to perform with the legendary psychedelic freestyle funk band Byron Vibes, as well as fronting his own exploratory jam project, The Groove Lounge. He also played a key role in curating and running the iconic morning jam sessions at Love Camp during Earth Frequency Festival.Since 2010, Graeme has also been channelling his talents into the electronic realm through his project Tranceq — a venture that’s seen impressive international recognition. One of his music videos was a finalist at the Global Citizens Festival in New York’s Central Park, while another track earned second place in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest (World Music category). He’s also been a three-time finalist in the Australian Independent Music Awards.In the past 4–5 years, Graeme has become a regular fixture in the DJ scene across the Byron Shire, known for his emotive and deeply melodic house and techno sets. Recent highlights include a powerful closing set at Mystic Valley (Persephone Banquet) and performances at Love Camp at Earth Frequency. In 2024, he was instrumental in bringing a new vision to life — establishing the first-ever Mystic Valley stage at Earth Frequency, where 32 local DJs performed over four unforgettable days.Forever guided by a love of rhythm, community, and evolution, Graeme Chapple continues to inspire with every beat.
