Dance, Donate and Celebrate at Season 9’s Spring Kick-off event this September! Nudge Nudge Wink Wink: The Ultimate Party with a Conscience!

The party of the year is back with its 9^th season!  Springing forth with an amazing line-up of DJ’s and performance talent that will have you dancing with elation from start to finish!

Our guests include DJs Kylie Rose, and the Wax Addicts joining the Cunning Stunts resident DJs Lord Sut & Dale Stephen, with live performances by The Hoodlum Ballet, all set to lift the Shed at this September’s Nudge Nudge Wink Wink!

Welcoming back to the shed, we have one of our fave guest DJs Kylie Rose.  Currently based in Berlin, Kylie Rose is a lover of disco, soulful house and dirty tech house and has been DJing for over 20 years. She started in 2001 at the Queens Ball in Brisbane and has played to big rooms and small. She always keeps the vibe upbeat and fun and has appeared on radio, live streams and several podcasts. Her event credits include Tropical Fruits, Mardi Gras, Curious, Nudge Nudge Wink Wink, Sleaze Ball, Queens Ball, Family Nightclub, Wickham Hotel, Woofclub and many more.  Kylie Rose is closing out the night and we are so excited to have her back rocking the Shed!!!!  

Making their shed debut are the Wax Addicts comprised of DJs Andrea Jones & Scotty Brimstone. Conceived in 2022 to lift people up through music, sharing light & bright goodness wherever they play.  Their shared ethos is a love of records/vinyl, and mixing and playing music. They run successful nights Renaissance and The Funk Club at Coorabell Hall and SMILE at The Northern. Like all good music collections, they don’t stick to one lane preferring to jump between styles, eras and genres.  Adept at crafting musical odysseys rich in flava, and musical goodness, the Wax Addicts weave styles from northern soul, funk, reggae, dub, disco, world, funk, and drum & bass to melodic house and more. Arrive early to catch their opening digital set and expect the unexpected!

Back to sprinkle their magic throughout the party with multiple performances are The Hoodlum Ballet, This fierce, passionate, and irresistible dance crew of renegade ballerinas and circus freaks captivate and elevate you. Inspiring others to find healing through movement, they share their gift of dance with the world. Each performance is crafted with love and intention The Hoodlum Ballet will be transforming the band stage into a magical dance wonderland for us all to share!

Ready to awaken your senses and put the spring back into your shimmy are our beloved Cunning Stunts resident DJs, Lord Sut & Dale Stephen.  Energised from their winter break and travels they have new tunes to titillate and satiate the most discerning dancers. Their sublime selections and delectable beats guarantee the shed of Nudge Nudge Wink Wink is full of dancing beats!

Nudge Nudge Wink Wink is more than a party; it’s a FUNdraiser, providing essential connection, charitable support, and a warming of spirit for all who attend. Once you’ve given it a nudge, you’ll have to return. Wink Wink! Their events continue with their unwavering commitment to support locally based registered NFPs that are making a profound impact in our communities during these challenging times.

For the September and October 2024 events, they are donating to the Byron Youth Service (BYS).  BYS empowers young people in the Northern Rivers community through programmes run by experienced and dedicated youth and welfare workers. BYS’s work is centred on two main areas:: well-being focusing on youth support through safe youth spaces, employment, education, and individualised casework. And youth culture—using contemporary arts, music, and digital media to engage and uplift our young people. BYS is reliant on philanthropic organisations, individual support and some government grants to continue. They are very underfunded, and we believe it is imperative that we all, as a community, continue to support these grassroots services, continually striving to meet overall community needs as well as build individual and community capacity.
